Fantastic item! I've been using it for years! My first one was a present, and I learned the hard way not to crank my MSR jet stove to high while cooking. It gets way too hot and can melt the bottom plate of the bowl, so just keep an eye on your temperature setting. You can still whip up meals quickly and control the heat just fine; just don’t go overboard! Haha. I’ve still found a use for that bowl and plan to grab more for friends and family despite my little mishap! Big thanks to Bear Minimum for an awesome product that has really enhanced my backpacking adventures and provided me with a great conversation starter!

This Mama Bear bowl is just fantastic! After I got the hang of folding and unfolding it, I jumped right into making my first meal. Cleanup was a breeze and super fast. Definitely a great purchase.

The item I got was damaged. I reached out to customer service, and they said they’d send a replacement. But guess what? That new one never showed up (it’s been over a month now), and I haven’t heard a peep from the company since.

I'm starting to feel a bit disheartened. In my earlier review, I acknowledged that this was a new business facing some challenges, but now it seems like there's a real lack of care. The first bowl I got was clearly damaged and should never have been sent out. Plus, my original order had postage due. I paid it but informed Cory so they could sort it out internally. After waiting a few weeks, I got a replacement, and my concerns were validated. The way it's built makes it super fragile and prone to breaking. The rivets connecting the aluminum to the top part can tear through with hardly any pressure. So, I tried to get a refund. My return inquiry led me to a site called Grommet that sells Bear bowls... not sure if they're connected. I emailed Cory again, and he gave me a return shipping address but didn’t send a prepaid label. I asked for one but still haven’t heard back. It seems like they have some serious organizational problems, which is more than any customer should have to deal with... so I'm ready to bail.

I was super pumped to get these boxes after reading a bunch of reviews, but when they arrived and I put them together, the snap that holds the handle to secure the side flaps just pops off when you try to lift it. This issue is happening with both boxes, which has me worried about getting replacements. What really bugs me is that I reached out to the company through one of their emails to share my concerns, and I still haven't heard a peep back from them.

Imagine this scenario: you're out in the wilderness with a sled that’s broken down. You’ve likely spent a good chunk of your day trying to dig it out and get back on track, but as night falls, it’s clear that staying put is the smarter choice. You’ll need to build a fire and settle in for the night, planning to ride out at dawn. You brought along a couple of water bottles, but they’re long gone. Eating snow isn’t the best idea; it can drop your body temperature and might even give you giardia. Wouldn't it be great to have a pot handy to melt snow and purify it? Plus, sipping on something warm would really help you feel better. With this tool, you can easily melt snow, generate enough water to keep you alive, and stay warm. It hardly takes up any space in your backpack or tunnel bag, and you can set it right over the fire. If you want to be extra prepared, toss in a small collapsible stove too. But honestly, I never head out without one of these on my sled. Believe me, you don’t want to find yourself dehydrated and resorting to eating snow just to get by.

This thing cooks really well! It easily holds 3 cups of water. Ideal for alcohol stoves, small wool-burning stoves, and gas stoves. Just perfect for those long hikes.
